Founder/Owner

The D.S. Huntington Co was founded in a small barn in Hancock, NH in December 1976 as a one-man shop focused on one-off design furniture and residential cabinetry. In 1980 David Huntington and his family moved for a short period to study at The College of the Redwoods in Mendocino Ca with James Krenov a world-renowned furniture artist. After returning to NH an employee was hired and the shop continued to grow when in 1985 we were awarded our first commercial renovation project which included a new restaurant and retail fit up. More Commercial projects followed and in 1985 the first addition to the barn was added. Another expansion followed in 1992. In 2007 son in law Cam Dexter joined us and in 2012 was made a partner providing a new generation of leadership. By 2010 it was obvious that we had passed the ability to further expand the facility and in 2013 the shop was moved to a space in the former Brookstone building in Peterborough, NH.

Since the move, we have added employees and state-of-the-art computerized machinery. We continue to keep the artistic edge and high-quality standards we have become known for. Our list of references is long and our relationships with architects, commercial and residential builders span decades.
